In 2016 my love and performing and Disney came together when I created my company Magical Memories AL.
When creating this business I had a very clear mission statement: to make children’s days a little brighter and give them magical memories. If that was at their birthday party, a free story time at my local library, a community outreach event or a large corporate event the goal has always been the same.
Thankfully throughout the years my company has grown and so have I. From costume, wig and makeup upgrades to new characters, new performers and staying consistently booked every weekend.
Being a party performer is like stepping into a fairy tale. It’s not just about putting on a sparkly dress and a styled wig; it’s about embodying the magic and wonder that children expect when they see their favorite characters come to life.
During the pandemic my mission statement seemed even more important. With so many children all over the world stuck at home, confused and a little scared I knew I could help bring some of the magic back! I started offering free story times every Friday on Facebook live as beloved characters. People from all over the world tuned in and came together for 30 minutes of fun amidst the chaos. I helped celebrate birthdays virtually on Zoom, held online educational classes, baking classes, ballet class, crafting classes, character events and personalized recorded messages. In 2020 and 2021 I helped children celebrate holidays in new ways with virtual parties including a Halloween dance party, Christmas cookie baking, New Year’s party, Valentines Day party, Easter crafts, Mother’s Day Crafts and more.
I loved getting to spend this uncertain time with children from all over the United States, Canada, Germany, London and India and more!
I am consistently grateful for the wonderful team who I have the privilege to work alongside and the amazing community who has consistently supported me over the years.
Even though the days of booking, scheduling, communication, wig styling, costume maintenance, event preparation and packed weekends can be long when I see the joy and excitement on a child’s face as they meet their favorite character all the effort is worth it.
It’s amazing to see that all these “magical memories” I’ve been making for children over the years have turned out to be some of my favorite memories too.
